Join the Conversation.

The Longest Table is an outdoor community dinner along Main Street. A time to share a meal together, sit beside neighbors we haven’t met, and have some fun.

One meal. One community. 1,000 conversations.

The Moscow Longest Table is part of a growing nationwide movement to bring neighbors together to do one simple thing: share a meal. Around a table, strangers become neighbors, conversations open doors, and a stronger sense of community begins to take shape. On Sunday, September 13, two blocks of Main Street in downtown Moscow will be transformed into an open-air community dinner party. Come take a seat, meet someone new, and be part of the conversation.

How it works.

The Longest Table is a potluck organized by table. Each table has a host who fills their table with 5 others and coordinates the food brought to the table. In addition, each table will have 3 spaces for other community members and walk-ins to join the fun.

You don’t have to be part of a table to join in! There will always be a seat for you. We ask people to register before the event, but walk-ins are welcome too.

The Longest Table provides everything you need for a table: tablecloths, flowers, table, and chairs. The Plate Project is providing plates and flatware. We’ll have water and juice available at Friendship Square.

Can’t bring a dish to share? No problem! There will be a table of extra food at Friendship Square to make sure everyone can join in. We’ll also have a table of allergen-friendly food available.

How to get involved.

  • Join in

The Longest Table is a free event. We ask participants to register so we’ll have an idea of how many people to expect and how many tables we need.

  • Host a table

Table hosts are the magic that makes the Longest Table happen. Click here to learn more about what it’s like to be a table host!

  • Volunteer

Organize, set up, greet, or help us clean up. We need a dedicated crew to make this happen — even if it’s just for an hour.

  • Bring something to share

What to bring to the table — and what’s being provided.
